I've been writing for over thirty years — poetry first, then short stories, theatre, and eventually screenplays. My background is unconventional for the industry: twenty years as a photographer, ten running my own advertising agency as brand manager and creative director. Every one of those years taught me the same thing — a story only works if someone feels it.
I write in the British drama tradition, across genres — drama, crime, psychological, action — with one exception. I don't write comedy. What I do write, I write to be felt: quietly, and all the way through.
